The protagonist is Inspector Napoleon Bonaparte, «Bony», a mixed-race policeman from Queensland who investigates in the Australian outback. This French edition was published in 1993. It is the 19th installment in the Inspector Napoleon Bonaparte series; the original title, «Sinister Stones», dates from 1954. The translation is by Michèle Valencia.
A title for fans of crime fiction, especially detective series with an Australian setting and a leisurely pace.
