Ten years after the publication of 'Wicked', Gregory Maguire returns to the land of Oz to introduce us to Liir, a young man last seen hiding in the castle after Dorothy defeated the Witch. Found bruised and in a coma, Liir is tended at the Cloister of Saint Glinda by a novice who brings him back to life with her musical gifts. What dark force left Liir in this state? Is he really Elphaba's son? In an Oz under new and dangerous management, Liir must grow up and discover his destiny.
