«Soñar en cubano» is Cristina García's novel, published by Espasa Calpe Mexicana, S.A. in paperback, in Spanish.
The novel follows three generations of women from a Cuban family divided by the revolution: the grandmother loyal to Castroism, the exiled daughter, and the punk granddaughter who questions both positions. Between Havana, Brooklyn and Miami, Santería, memory and exile intertwine to speak about Cuban-American identity and the desire to belong.
It is the Spanish version of Dreaming in Cuban, published in 1994; the work was a finalist for the National Book Award.
