«Sonetos» is the poetry collection by Florbela Espanca, published by Editorial Planeta in paperback (184 pages, in Spanish and Portuguese).
The sonnets of Florbela Espanca, written in the early decades of the 20th century, combine great emotional intensity with a female voice uncommon in her time. Love, desire, suffering and loneliness run through poems of classical craftsmanship that anticipate confessional and modernist poetry.
Published in September 1997 by Editorial Planeta and S.A.E.P.A., this edition brings together the lyric work of the Portuguese poet.
A suitable read for lovers of classical poetry and followers of confessional and modernist literature.
Florbela Espanca was a Portuguese poet. She is known for her passionate and feminist poetry. Fernando Pessoa later said she was his "twin soul".
