«Study in Lilac» is the crime novel by Maria-Antònia Oliver, published by Thorsons in paperback (210 pages, in English).

In 1980s Barcelona, Mallorcan detective Lònia Guiu investigates the disappearance of a pregnant teenager and the fraud against an antiques dealer. Guiu celebrates her successes and setbacks by buying lipsticks for her collection. The title evokes Sherlock Holmes with a vindicative nod.

English translation by Kathleen McNerney of the Catalan novel 'Estudi en lila'. It is the first novel featuring detective Lònia Guiu and was published in the Pandora women crime writers series.
