«Tango pour une rose» is the historical fiction novel by Laura Pariani, published by Flammarion in paperback (124 pages, in French).
The novel recreates the final moments of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who disappeared in 1944, and evokes from memory his passionate and difficult relationship with Consuelo. With prose tinged by tango, Laura Pariani blends historical reality and fiction to portray a vulnerable man, marked by distance and by a love that never fades.
Tango pour une rose was published in 2007 in the Littérature étrangère collection, with a French translation by Dominique Vittoz.
A read for those seeking historical and romantic fiction, and for admirers of Saint-Exupéry interested in his more intimate side.
