«Tanta pasión para nada» is the short story collection by Julio Llamazares, published by Alfaguara in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
It brings together twelve stories and a fable: a footballer at the decisive moment of his career, an elderly Neapolitan man who rediscovers a love, a poor man who wants to stop the world, a missing driver, a woman who reveals her secret too late. They all share the same sentence: discovering that life is a useless passion.
It is part of Alfaguara's Hispánica collection. First edition published on January 24, 2011.
For adults interested in contemporary Spanish fiction and in stories with a nihilistic tone.
