«¿Te cuento un secreto? Cuando me convertí en sirena» is the children's picture book by Roberto Aliaga, published by Anaya Infantil y Juvenil in hardcover (32 pages, in Spanish).
Each night, a mother tells her daughter a secret from her childhood to show her that things can be understood in several ways. On this occasion, she recalls when, on her first visit to the beach, she put on a mermaid tail and dived into the sea with the mission of finding other mermaids; the abundance of floating garbage made it difficult and led her to make an important decision. The book thus addresses the degradation of the seas and pollution through a story close to early readers.
The title belongs to the collection «Primeros lectores - ¿Te cuento un secreto?» by Anaya. The text is designed for pre-readers and early readers, with handwritten lettering, and illustrations by Miguel Ángel Díez.
Recommended from age 5, for those who are starting to read alone or still need to be read aloud to; it also serves to introduce conversations about caring for the sea with the youngest.
