«Terra baixa» is a three-act drama by Àngel Guimerà, published by Bromera in paperback (160 pages, in Catalan).
Manelic leaves the highlands, idealized and pure, to enter the lowlands, realistic and corrupt, where Marta suffers the domination of the master Sebastià. From this conflict emerges a love story and a social indictment of symbolic force that has made it one of the most performed works in Catalan theater.
It belongs to the collection «Els Nostres Autors» (no. 87), with an introduction by Ramon Bacardit; the work was originally published in 1896.
For readers aged 16 and over, both for school reading and for interest in classical Catalan theater.
