«Territorios vigilados» is the contemporary fiction novel by Horacio Vázquez Rial, published by Ediciones Destino in paperback (211 pages, in Spanish).
The novel treads the line between the real and the plausible: in 1974, Miguel Arellano is murdered at the Hotel Oriente in Barcelona; twelve years later, Joan Romeu returns to Buenos Aires to settle accounts with his past. Revenge is the excuse connecting both events, in a story where real violence is tinged with dreamlike matter.
It belongs to the Áncora y Delfín Collection, number 619, from Ediciones Destino. First edition 1988. The cover photograph reproduces The Angel of the Home (1937), by Max Ernst.
For readers of contemporary fiction in Spanish, aged 12 and up.
