«Testemunho» is the novel by Anita Shreve in paperback (287 pages, in Portuguese).
At a New England boarding school, a tape of a sexual scandal among teenagers sets off an earthquake. The headmaster tries to contain the damage while the voices of students, parents and teachers reveal secrets and lies. More disturbing than the act is that it was recorded: the community faces questions about guilt and innocence.
Originally published as «Testimony» in 2008; this 2010 edition includes a translation by Teresa Curvelo.
