«The Artist» is the children's picture book by Joseph Coelho for the Bug Club Shared Reading series, published by Pearson Education in paperback (16 pages, in English).
With a stroke of the brush, Carl paints scenes inspired by family postcards; the vivid colors and energetic strokes bring them to life, and the artist finds himself immersed in them, where dangers await. Aimed at reading aloud, the story incorporates vocabulary of art and landscapes.
It belongs to the Bug Club Shared Reading series, Year 1 level, within a reading program used in over 3,500 schools. Published in 2020.
Recommended for children aged 5 to 6 and for reading aloud at home or in the classroom.
