«The Christmas Cobwebs» is a children's Christmas story by Lesley Sims, illustrated by Ben Mantle, published by Usborne in hardcover (32 pages, in English).
A retelling of a traditional German tale: on Christmas Eve, seven spiders spin webs over the Christmas tree and put the celebration at risk. The text, aimed at early readers, is supported by illustrations and asks whether Santa Claus can save the party; at the end there are games to review what has been read.
It belongs to the Usborne First Reading series, level 2, a collection for early readers developed with educational consultant Alison Kelly. The book was published in 2012.
Aimed at children aged 4 to 6 who are beginning to read and for reading with the family during the Christmas holidays.
