«The Closed Circle» is Jonathan Coe's novel, sequel to «The Rotters' Club», published by Viking in 2004 in paperback (432 pages, in English).
The novel returns to the characters of «The Rotters' Club» as adults facing their lives in the Blair era. Told with black humor, it shows how politics, ideology and the media become almost indistinguishable, from Millennium night to the years of the war on terror, and offers a bittersweet close to their stories.
Second installment of the Rotters' Club series. Published on September 2, 2004 by Viking.
For readers of contemporary literary fiction and followers of Coe's previous novel, who will find here the continuation of their protagonists' lives.

Jonathan Coe is an English novelist and writer. His work has an underlying preoccupation with political issues, although this serious engagement is often expressed comically in the form of satire. For example, What a Carve Up! (1994) reworks the plot of an old 1960s spoof horror film of the same name. It is set within the "carve up" of the UK's resources that was carried out by Margaret Thatcher's Conservative governments of the 1980s.
