«The Nativity Play» is the illustrated Christmas story by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen (Hachette Children's Group, paperback, 32 pages, English).
It tells how a group of children prepare and stage the birth of Jesus: shepherds, angels, wise men and animals gather around the manger with improvised props. It is both a celebration of school nativity plays and a nod to the adults who manage to create magic with wire coat hangers and striped towels.
Published in 1989, in English. It belongs to the Knight Books collection, with paperback binding and 32 pages.
A book suitable for early readers, family read-aloud and Christmas school activities.
Nick Butterworth is a British author and illustrator of children's books. His picture book The Whisperer won the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize in 2005.
