«The Night in Question» is a collection of stories by Tobias Wolff, published by Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group in paperback (224 pages, in English).
Fifteen stories reveal an elusive, volatile, and often uncomfortable truth. A journalist is fired after writing the obituary of a man who is still alive; a soldier in Vietnam requests increasingly dangerous missions; a mother and her penniless son observe an unattainable domesticity. They are small emotional shocks that leave a mark.
The edition is dated 1997 and belongs to the Vintage Contemporaries series.
For readers of short stories and contemporary literary fiction; it is a common title in book clubs.
