«The Pregnant Widow» is the literary fiction novel by Martin Amis, published by Alfred A. Knopf in hardcover (370 pages, in English).
Summer 1970: in a castle in Italy, young people live through the sexual revolution between two social orders, what Alexander Herzen called «the pregnant widow». Keith Nearing, a twenty-year-old literature student, tries to use feminism to his advantage, torn between three women; that summer will mark his love life for decades.
First North American edition, published in 2010.
For readers of literary fiction and contemporary British narrative, interested in a bittersweet comedy about youth and social change.
