«The Shadow Killer» is the crime novel by Arnaldur Indridason, published by Random House UK in hardcover (368 pages, in English).
In occupied Reykjavik in 1941, the murder of a street vendor leads detective Flóvent and military policeman Thorson to investigate a German family and a possible spy. The plot mixes tension between the Allied forces, dubious experiments on Icelandic schoolchildren in the 1930s, and the role of Vera, the victim's ex-partner.
This novel is the second installment of the Reykjavik Wartime Mystery series; it was originally published in Icelandic as «Þýska húsið» and the English translation is by Victoria Cribb.
For readers of Nordic noir and historical mystery with a wartime backdrop.
