«Timmarna» is the novel by Michael Cunningham, published by Bonnier Pocket in paperback (235 pages, in Swedish).
Three stories intertwine: in the 1920s, Virginia Woolf writes «Mrs Dalloway»; in 1940s Los Angeles, a housewife reads that novel; and in 1990s New York, Clarissa Vaughan prepares a party for her friend Richard, a poet ill with AIDS.
It is the Swedish translation of the original novel «The Hours» (1998); this edition was published in 2003. The work won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the PEN/Faulkner Award in 1999.
It will appeal to readers of literary fiction, followers of Virginia Woolf, and those who enjoy multi-period ensemble novels.
