«Tragicomedia de Don Duardos» is a play by Gil Vicente, published in 1996 by Editorial Colegio de España in paperback (244 pages, in Spanish).
The work is structured around dialogue as the driving force of the stage and dramatizes love as an inescapable destiny, within the attempt to overcome the chivalric convention; this is what the study accompanying this edition proposes.
Published in Salamanca, it belongs to the Biblioteca Hispánica, no. 32, edited by Armando López Castro and includes bibliographic references (pages 73-80).
For readers of Spanish-language theater and Iberian literature, interested in editions with a bibliographic apparatus.

Gil Vicente, called the Trobadour, was a Portuguese playwright and poet who acted in and directed his own plays. Considered the chief dramatist of Portugal he is sometimes called the "Portuguese Plautus," often referred to as the "Father of Portuguese drama" and as one of Western literature's greatest playwrights. Also noted as a lyric poet, Vicente worked in Spanish as much as he worked in Portuguese and is thus, with Juan del Encina, considered joint-father of Spanish drama.
