In 'Night Train', Martin Amis introduces us to Mike Hoolihan, a police detective in an American city, facing the most challenging case of her career. The victim is Jennifer Rockwell, the daughter of Mike's boss, an apparently happy astrophysicist who inexplicably commits suicide. As Mike delves into the investigation, she uncovers dark secrets and signs that Jennifer left behind, revealing a mysterious and disturbing plot. This novel is an intense exploration of the human psyche and the limits of reality, with a narrative style that combines elements of the police genre with a deep reflection on the human condition.
