«Troya» is the historical novel by Gisbert Haefs published by Edhasa in hardcover (576 pages, in Spanish).
A narrative fresco of antiquity that recreates the city of Troy and turns its legend into a story of human ambitions and political intrigue. Odysseus, Paris and Achilles cross paths with characters swept along by the changes shaking the eastern Mediterranean, in a reading that strips the myth of its epic sheen to bring it closer to reality.
Second edition, included in Edhasa's Narrativas Históricas collection. Translated from the German by Carlos Forta Gil; the original work dates from 1999.
Recommended for readers of historical fiction interested in antiquity and in the reinterpretation of Greek myths.

Gisbert Haefs is a German writer in several genres and translator. He has written historical novels such as Alexander, won both the Deutscher Science Fiction Preis and Kurd-Laßwitz-Preis in science fiction, and placed at the Deutscher Krimi Preis for crime fiction. As a translator he worked on a much criticized effort at translating works of Jorge Luis Borges into German.
