«Tu es trop grand, Georges!» is the children's book by Agnès de Lestrade, illustrated by Sylvie Bessard, published by Nathan in 2011 in hardcover (29 pages, in French).
A rooster and a hen cannot have children and travel to Africa to adopt Georges, a little elephant. He is happy on the farm until he starts to grow: his size makes him a target of mockery. When a classmate gets trapped on the school roof, his great height proves decisive and his classmates change their minds.
It belongs to Nathan's Premières Lectures collection, level 2 («je commence à lire»), a series for reading aloud in two voices: an adult narrates and the child reads the speech bubbles. Designed for children aged 6 and up.
For children who are beginning to read, from around age 6, and for adults who want to accompany them in shared reading.
