«Txano Gorritxo eta amoma basatia» is the children's version in Basque of the Little Red Riding Hood tale, by Juan Kruz Igerabide (Giltza, paperback, 96 pages).
The narrator recalls a country where they told the story of Little Red Riding Hood differently, as if the tale formed a puzzle. The grandmother is not the usual one, nor are the parents, so the pieces of the classic story are rearranged and the plot becomes surprisingly different.
Tenth title in the Tukan Laranja collection; recommended reading from age 6. Originally published in 2005.
For early readers who already know the tale of Little Red Riding Hood and want to discover this story told in a different and playful way.
