«Un año y tres meses» is the poetry collection by Luis García Montero, published by Tusquets Editores in hardcover (80 pages, in Spanish).
After the death of Almudena Grandes, Luis García Montero turns absence into poetic material. The book follows the process of illness through convalescence and mourning, with poems evoking the last summer, the caregiving, a New Year's Eve in the hospital, the empty house and the shared moments of a long love story.
The book belongs to the Marginales collection from Tusquets, in its Nuevos Textos Sagrados series, and was published on September 14, 2022.
For readers of contemporary poetry seeking a work about love, loss and mourning.
Luis García Montero is a Spanish poet, literary critic and academic. He is a professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Granada and since 2018 director of the Instituto Cervantes.
