«Un dels nostres» is Toni Cruanyes's essay on Catalan identity in conflict, published by Editorial Pòrtic in paperback (232 pages, in Catalan).
Drawing on his experience leading TV3's Telenotícies during the Procés, Toni Cruanyes combines personal memoir and historical essay to analyze the Catalan conflict. He reviews the tension in public television from the October 1 referendum to the Supreme Court trial, reflects on the division in Catalan society, and examines the legacy of Jordi Pujol, Pasqual Maragall and José Montilla. He also evokes his family history, with one Francoist grandfather and another pro-independence, as a starting point for discussing the defense of one's own and collective identity.
The book belongs to the P.VISIONS collection, edited by Editorial Pòrtic, as number 138. It was published in Barcelona in January 2020.
Aimed at readers interested in the politics and recent history of Catalonia, and at those who follow Toni Cruanyes's journalistic career and the role of the media in the conflict.
