«Drôle de Père Noël» is a children's illustrated story by Steven Kroll, published by Gallimard in 1984 in paperback (56 pages, in French).
Santa Claus begins his Christmas Eve journey, and a string of mishaps makes him miss staying at home. Told with humor and tenderness, the story shows how even the most magical character can be overwhelmed by a night full of unexpected events.
The original English title, «Santa's crash-bang Christmas», was published in 1977 by Holiday House. This French edition, illustrated by Tomie dePaola, belongs to the Folio Benjamin collection.
Set within children's and young adult literature, it is a Christmas option for reading aloud with the little ones.
