«Un español frente al Holocausto» is the historical essay by Diego Carcedo, published by Ediciones Martínez Roca in paperback (328 pages, in Spanish).
The book reconstructs the story of Ángel Sanz Briz, a Spanish diplomat posted in Hungary during World War II, who managed to save thousands of Jews from the Holocaust. Diego Carcedo does so with historical rigor, describing occupied Budapest and the courage of someone who acted alone against the Nazi machinery.
The work belongs to the Historia Viva collection, of which it is number 1, and includes bibliographical references.
A read for those who want to learn about the work of diplomats who protected Jews in occupied Hungary and the stories of resistance during the Holocaust.
