«Un petit chacal très malin» is a children's story of Hindu origin by Étienne Morel, published by Flammarion in paperback (24 pages, in French).
A compassionate Brahmin frees a tiger locked in a cage, but the ungrateful beast intends to devour him. The man gets the tiger to agree to submit to the judgment of the first five people they meet on their path; each encounter adds a reflection on justice and gratitude until a very cunning little jackal enters the scene.
It belongs to the Père Castor collection and was published in 1999.
Aimed at children aged 3 to 5, suitable for reading aloud.
