«Un week-end entre amis» is the romantic comedy novel by Madeleine Wickham, published by Pocket in paperback (256 pages, in French).
A group of old friends from Seymour Road reunite for a weekend at Patrick and Caroline's house to recall old times. Between tennis, cocktails and carefully maintained appearances, each tries to show their best side, but cohabitation and comparisons bring out grudges, jealousies and the gap between their real lives and their dreams.
The work was Madeleine Wickham's first novel, known as Sophie Kinsella; its English original, The Tennis Party, was published in 1995. The French translation is by Marie-Claude Peugeot.
This novel is suitable for those who enjoy chick lit and appreciate a sharp portrait of adult relationships.
