«Una aldea» is the novel by Russian writer Ivan Bunin, published by Planeta in paperback (264 pages, in Spanish).
The novel is set in a Russian village during the 1905 Revolution and follows two peasant brothers, Tikhon and Kuzma Illich: one runs a small shop and takes to drink, the other aspires to write. Bunin uses their lives to portray poverty, social injustice and the harshness of surviving in the Russian countryside of the time.
The novel was originally published in Russian in 1910 under the title «Деревня»; this Spanish edition, from 1973, belongs to the Nobel Prize Collection and uses the translation by T. Enco de Valero.
For readers of Russian literature and 20th-century classics interested in rural Russia and its social conflicts.
