«Una bruja en casa» is Ulf Stark's children's novel, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (126 pages, in Spanish).
María can't go to school because a terrible cough won't let her sleep. Her parents work and decide to hire a babysitter, but the one chosen is a witch. María is not willing to accept her at home, and even less so when, looking at the old photo album with her, she feels a blast of icy air that seems to come from the ogre mountain.
Translation by Leopoldo Rodríguez Regueira and illustrations by Fernando Cabezas. It belongs to the El Barco de Vapor collection; the original title is Maria Bleknos.
A reading for children and young audiences, with a girl who must face a witch babysitter.
Ulf Gottfrid Stark was a Swedish author and screenwriter.
