Another book about the civil war? Yes, another one, but with a difference: it does not confuse with unnecessary data and relates what happened in those three years of homicidal madness without catechizing about who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. It is not a novel, because everything it tells happened (including the small stories that scare or move to laughter), but it reads like a novel and aims to instruct by delighting. That is why it is written in the tone that the author already used in his History of Spain told for skeptics.
Juan Eslava Galán, is a Spanish writer of historic genre, both fiction and non-fiction. He has published some of his works under the pen name Nicholas Wilcox.
