«Una lectora poc corrent» is the novel by Alan Bennett published by labutxaca in paperback (96 pages, in Catalan).
The Queen of England discovers a mobile library in the Buckingham Palace gardens and borrows a book almost out of obligation. That experience awakens her love of reading to the point of neglecting her official duties, to the concern of the court and the government. An ironic fable about the transformative power of reading.
Original title: The Uncommon Reader. Catalan translation by Ernest Riera Arbussà. Alan Bennett is also a British playwright.
