«Una storia semplice» is the crime novel by Leonardo Sciascia, published by Adelphi in paperback (66 pages, in Italian).
The story begins with a call to the police, a truncated message and an apparent suicide in Sicily. The plot becomes entangled in a case with a background of mafia and drugs that are never explicitly mentioned, while a brigadier tries to find the truth. Sciascia thus offers a reflection on justice and power.
Work originally published in 1989 and reissued as number 238 of the Piccola Biblioteca Adelphi collection.
