«Unas cuantas cartas cortas» is the young adult novel by Paula Danziger and Ann M. Martin, published by Alfaguara in paperback (225 pages, in Spanish).
Elizabeth and Tara are inseparable friends despite very different personalities. When Tara moves to Ohio, their friendship continues by letter: they tell each other about their courses, the clubs they join, problems in their families, new friendships, and their image changes, until they discover that distance doesn't break their bond.
Translation by Frank Schleper of the original «P. S. Longer Letter Later», in Alfaguara's Serie azul collection.
For young readers: the protagonists are twelve years old and experience family changes, new friendships, and distance.
