«Under the Moon» is the science fiction graded reader by Rowena Akinyemi and Tricia Hedge, published by Oxford University Press in paperback (64 pages, in English).
In the year 2522, planet Earth is dying: the artificial ozone layer, only three centuries old, is crumbling and the sun scorches the surface. Lack of water kills trees, animals and people. Meanwhile, the inhabitants of a colony under the Moon await news from the planet; on a ship, a young man gazes at figures on a screen announcing the disaster.
The work belongs to the Oxford Bookworms Library collection, within the Fantasy & Horror series, and corresponds to level 1 (400 vocabulary words). 2000 edition.
Recommended for beginner-level students of English as a foreign language and for young readers aged 13 and up.
