«Unter deutschen Betten» is the memoir by Justyna Polanska, published by Knaur Taschenbuch in paperback (222 pages, in German).
Justyna Polanska, a Polish cleaner in Germany, claims to have kept silent for years; now she humorously recounts what she sees when entering her clients' homes: contradictions between the public facade and domestic life, small miseries and everyday customs that portray German society from the outside.
The original German edition appeared on January 10, 2011; the subtitle of the work is «eine polnische Putzfrau packt aus».
Aimed at readers of memoirs and non-fiction seeking an ironic look at domestic life in Germany.
