Utopía, escrita por Tomás Moro en 1516, describe un estado ideal, similar a las descripciones de Castiglione sobre el cortesano perfecto y Maquiavelo sobre el príncipe ideal. Moro acuñó la palabra 'Utopía' de las raíces griegas 'u' (no) y 'topos' (lugar), significando 'no lugar' o 'algún lugar no existente'. Sir Thomas More, venerated in the Catholic Church as a martyr and saint, was an English lawyer, judge, social philosopher, author, statesman, theologian and Renaissance humanist. He also served Henry VIII as Lord Chancellor from October 1529 to May 1532. He wrote Utopia, published in 1516, which describes the political system of an imaginary island state.
