V for Vendetta is a graphic novel written by Alan Moore and illustrated primarily by David Lloyd, originally published in black and white in the British magazine Warrior by Quality Communications in 1982, and later collected and continued in color by the American publisher DC Comics between 1988 and 1989. The story is set in a dystopian England of the near future, under the yoke of a totalitarian regime, and follows the steps of a mysterious revolutionary anarchist known only as "V", who sets out to overthrow the government through acts of sabotage and propaganda, inspiring the population to rebel against oppression. The work explores themes such as totalitarianism, anarchy, individual freedom, and resistance against authority.
