«Vaderlandse geschiedenis voor in bed, op het toilet of in bad» is the history essay by Roel Tanja (BBNC Uitgevers, hardcover, 158 pp., in Dutch).
It covers nearly 150 key dates in Dutch history and explains what lies behind the events memorized at school, from the murder of Boniface in 754 to the social changes of the 20th century. It includes episodes such as Piet Heijn's capture of the Silver Fleet in 1628 or the flood of 1953.
The work was published in 2013.
Intended as light reading for bed, the toilet or the bath, it serves to review Dutch history and to bring it closer to children.
