«Vargas Llosa, tal cual» is the essay by Herbert Morote, published by Soc.Gip. Ediciones Y Publicaci in paperback (260 pages).
Herbert Morote, who studied with Mario Vargas Llosa, analyzes in this essay the memoirs «El pez en el agua» from a critical perspective. Far from assessing the novelist, he seeks to portray the man through a kind of «deconstruction» of the account itself: without contradicting it or providing contrary testimonies, he tries to show that these memoirs, written to accuse, end up confessing.
The work was published in 1998 and its cover includes the mention of the Ciudad de Irún Literary Awards 1997.
Readers interested in the figure of Mario Vargas Llosa and in the critical discussion of his memoirs.
