«Veel gezelliger dan bij u thuis» is Sylvia Witteman's collection of humorous columns, published by Nijgh & Van Ditmar in paperback, in Dutch.
Sylvia Witteman brings together in this volume columns about the contrast between life in a sunny American suburb and the return to the Netherlands. The author evokes with humor the comforts she misses, such as endless coffee or pumpkin pie, and the reunion with Dutch customs like kroketten and crossing on red.
The subtitle is «Breikous, bordspel en ander kosteloos vermaak». It is the third compilation of columns by Sylvia Witteman, after «Pekingeend bij nacht» and «Ik verzin dit niet».
For readers with a command of Dutch who enjoy humorous sketches of everyday life and short chronicles about daily life and culture shock.
