«Venezuela» is the novel by Jochen Jung, published by Editions Métailié in paperback (112 pages, in French).
In 1941, Alfredo Guzman, a gynecologist and convinced Nazi, seduces a general's wife and must desert. With the help of Ernst Udet, he flees to Venezuela, his father's land, on a ship with Jewish refugees. There he discovers a family past and an elusive progenitor. His son narrates with irony a story about identity, exile and belonging.
The work belongs to the Bibliothèque allemande collection of Editions Métailié and was published on October 2, 2008.
Recommended for those who enjoy fiction with a historical background, humor and self-criticism.
