«Verbi sponsa» is the instruction of the Catholic Church on the contemplative life and the cloister of nuns, published in 1999.
The instruction develops the meaning of the female contemplative life and of the cloister of nuns, with special attention to vocation and discipline in religious orders. It offers guidelines for contemplative communities and for those who participate in their formation, within the framework of an official document of the Church.
The authorship is attributed to the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.
Reference work for those who study religious life, Christian spirituality and the documents of the Church.
