«Versiones de nosotros» is Laura Barnett's romantic novel, published by Alianza Editorial in hardcover (416 pages, in Spanish).
In 1958 Cambridge, Eva and Jim, two nineteen-year-olds, have a chance encounter that could have been a mere anecdote. The novel follows three alternative versions of their lives, together or apart, from youth to old age, across London, New York, Paris and other settings. An exploration of chance, small decisions and the different forms love can take.
Laura Barnett's first novel. Alianza Literaria (AL) collection. Translated by María del Puerto Barruetabeña Diez; original English: 'The Versions of Us' (2015).
For readers of contemporary and romantic fiction; its three-version structure makes it a good choice for book clubs.
Laura Barnett is a British journalist, author and theatre critic.
