«Viaje invernal» is the contemporary fiction novel by Ronald Frame, published by Seix Barral in paperback (189 pages, in Spanish).
The action takes place in 1958, when Annoele arrives in Prague with her mother to visit her father, a British diplomat posted in the city. Narrated by Annoele herself, the work describes a dysfunctional family: a frivolous mother, a weak-willed father, and a daughter attentive to everything around her. A tragic story told with restraint.
The translation is by R. M. Bassols; the original English title is «Winter Journey».
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in translated British narrative.
