«Vidas erráticas» is the coming-of-age novel by Gianni Celati, published by Editorial Periférica in paperback (144 pages, in Spanish).
In the 1950s, a narrator recalls his youth in a provincial Italian city. Three intertwined stories, functioning as a coming-of-age work, follow Pucci, Zoffi, a tobacconist philosopher, and the writer Tritone, characters who seem to want to do nothing in a landscape of movie theaters, walks, and failed loves.
Third title in the Largo Recorrido collection from Editorial Periférica, published in 2009. Winner of the Viareggio Prize in 2006.
Recommended for readers of contemporary fiction and coming-of-age stories set in twentieth-century Italy.
Gianni Celati was an Italian writer, translator, and literary critic.
