«White Mischief» is James Fox's true crime chronicle, published by Penguin in paperback (299 pages, in English).
It reconstructs the murder of Josslyn Hay, Earl of Erroll, committed in Kenya in 1941, within British colonial society: a circle of expatriates marked by glamour, greed, decadence and crime. The investigation of the case intertwines with the secrets of a privileged community.
The work was originally published in 1982; this edition is from 1988. The book was adapted into a movie with Greta Scacchi and Charles Dance. The work is also known as 'White Mischief: The Murder of Lord Erroll'.
For readers of Kenyan colonial history and true crime.
James Fox is a British journalist best known for his book, White Mischief, and for co-authoring Life, the best-selling memoir of Rolling Stones' guitarist Keith Richards.
