«Will Eisner's New York: Life in the Big City» is a collection of comics by Will Eisner, published by W. W. Norton & Company in hardcover (448 pages).
This book brings together four graphic stories that portray New York from the sidewalk: life in the subway, buildings as witnesses to the city, anonymous encounters between neighbors and the harder side of its inhabitants. Will Eisner combines a melancholic gaze with the pulse of the street, without idealizing the city, and Neil Gaiman writes the introduction.
The volume collects four works: New York, The Building, City People Notebook and Invisible People, with an introduction by Neil Gaiman and unpublished material.
For fans of Will Eisner and lovers of urban graphic novels and choral stories about New York.

William Erwin Eisner was an American cartoonist, writer, and entrepreneur. He was one of the earliest cartoonists to work in the American comic book industry, and his series The Spirit (1940–1952) was noted for its experiments in content and form. In 1978, he popularized the term "graphic novel" with the publication of his book A Contract with God. He was an early contributor to formal comics studies with his book Comics and Sequential Art (1985). The Eisner Award was named in his honor and is given to recognize achievements each year in the comics medium; he was one of the three inaugural inductees to the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame.
